Deborah McDonald is a contemporary romance writer. ‘Debbie’ is the shortened version of her name used by family and friends. Her first published book, Jubilee Sunset Romance, is the beginning of the eight-book Over the Bay Series. ‘Over the Bay’ is a term used for the drive over the Bayway or causeway to access the bay. Many people use this access to travel to their summer homes.

Deborah wrote her first essay in college, which was chosen to be included in the university English textbook. It was a highlight of her college career.

A wife and mother, Deborah worked as an educator for thirty-six years before retiring in December, 2024. Her love of teaching had her returning to the classroom in January, 2025. An educator friend joked that he hoped she enjoyed her two weeks off!

Deborah lives on the Eastern Shore in Alabama with her family.
